Let's Have a MARC World Series if Washington Plays Baltimore

Press release issued October 3, 2012

Maryland should deliver a MARC World Series if Washington faces Baltimore in the Fall Classic, the Action Committee for Transit said today.

In a letter to Maryland Transit Administration chief Ralign Wells, the riders group asked the state agency to promise extra service on the Camden Line which connects Camden Yards to Union Station.

“Major league baseball has historically been a city game and riding transit to games is as much a part of the fan’s baseball tradition as playing in stadiums like Camden Yards is for the players,” said ACT secretary Tracey Johnstone.

ACT is a 500-member-strong grassroots transit advocacy organization based in Montgomery County. Full text of the group's letter is here.
