ACT Endorsement of Casey Anderson for Planning Board
Dear Council President Ervin:
The Action Committee for Transit strongly endorses the candidacy of Casey Anderson for Planning Board.
We have been enormously impressed by Casey's ability to forge consensus around difficult issues. Again and again he has brought people together, not at a lowest common denominator, but around a positive program to move the county forward.
It was his leadership that moved the bicycle community, and in particular the Washington Area Bicycle Association, from passive endorsement of the Purple Line to active support. He played an important role in building community support for the White Flint Master Plan which shows the way toward sustainable and community-friendly economic development. He is showing the same skills as a member of the planning board's advisory committee on the zoning code. Casey understands the linkages between land use and transportation.
We believe Casey can help unite the county around a new vision of our future. We urge you to give him a seat on the Planning Board.
