If "Seeing is Believing" a Train in Japan,
Why Hasn't Gov Hogan Looked at Purple Line Route?

Press release issued June 4, 2015

"Seeing is believing," said Governor Larry Hogan after riding Japan's maglev train. Yet with the governor's decision on the $2.4 billion Purple Line already overdue, the state's chief executive has yet to take a look at the route of the light rail line.

"The Purple Line is funded and ready to build," said Action Committee for Transit president Nick Brand. "Maglev is in the early planning stages. If the governor can fly to Japan and look at the maglev line, how come he hasn't found the time to visit Silver Spring or Riverdale Park?"

The Purple Line, Brand pointed out, will trigger a wave of job-creating growth. "The economic potential of this corridor is obvious when you travel through it," he said. "Seeing is believing in Maryland too."
